AP Capstone

AP Capstone Application 26-27

 

AP Capstone Diploma

Requires the completion of AP Seminar, AP Research, and 4 additional AP courses of choice with passing scores of 3 or higher.

This will now be included as a qualifying credential for the Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) Award for students who meet the Bright Futures Scholarship program requirements.

AP Capstone Certificate

Requires the completion of AP Seminar and AP Research, with  passing scores of 3 or higher.

AP Scholar Designations by College Board
  • AP Scholar- Grades of 3 or better on 3 or more AP exams

  • AP Scholar with Honor- Grades of 3 or better on 4 or more AP exams and an aveage of 3.25 on all AP exams taken

  • AP Scholar with Distinction- Grades of 3 or better on 5 or more AP exams and an average of 3.5 on all AP exams taken

  • National AP Scholar- Grades of 4 or better on 8 or more AP exams and an average of 4 on all AP exams (must be a student in the U.S.)

WPHS is not a magnet school.  Applicants are selected based on a variety of criteria including:

  • Must be zoned for Winter Park High School 2025-26
  • 7th and 8th grade, final and current class grades
  • Successful completion of Algebra I (IB Diploma tract)
  • Standardized Test Score
  • Teacher recommendations
  • Self-Interview video

IB and AP Summer Enrichment

  • Rising Freshmen, Sophomore & Junior Students: Enrichment assignments  are recommended, but not graded for mastery.
  • IB Diploma Seniors: Your EE, TOK, IB Biology HL, and IB Contemporary History assignments will be due at the beginning of the school year.  These are all assignments you received during the 2024-2025 school year.
  • You may need to access some of these documents using your OCPS student account.
