The IB Career-related Programme (IB CP):
Preparing students to follow their chosen pathways in life.
The IB CP incorporates the vision and educational principles of the IB into a unique programme specifically developed for students who wish to engage in career-related learning.
The IB CP’s flexible educational framework
allows schools to meet the needs, backgrounds and contexts of students. Each school creates its own distinctive version of the IB CP.
The IB CP at WPHS
Winter Park High School has an open-access policy regarding participation in their IB CP. Students who wish to challenge themselves are welcome. Our IB CP is focused on preparing students for work at an entry level directly after high school, or preparing them for further education at the community college level, or four year colleges and universities.
Requirements of the IB CP
1. Career-related study: WPHS Students must be enrolled in a Career-related pathway (CTE). Currently WPHS offers the CP through two CTE Pathways:
Þ PLTW Biomedical Studies
Þ Digital Video Production
2. IB Diploma Programme (IB DP) Courses: Each WPHS student enrolled in the IB CP will take a minimum of two IB DP courses. Students may take additional IB DP courses with permission.
3. IB CP core (4 components): Students develop personal qualities, professional skills, and intellectual habits required for lifelong learning and professional success.
