Uniforms

A uniform is mandatory for all Orchestras.

• Guys: Tuxedo jackets, black pants, ties and white tuxedo shirt.

• Girls: Floor length black dress.

• Shoes: Every Orchestra member needs to have a pair of dress black shoes for performances. Students are in charge of purchasing their own shoes. No open-toed or platform shoes. If in doubt as to whether or not your shoes are appropriate, please ask.

There is a one-time uniform rental fee of $100 for freshmen. The fee allows students to rent a uniform for all four years. If a student needs to change sizes, from year to year, they are allowed to do so (we do not replace men’s white tux shirts).

It is important to turn in uniform payments promptly so uniforms can be ordered in time for concerts. Uniform fees must be paid before picking up the uniform.

If there are financial concerns, do not hesitate to contact the Orchestra office. ORCHESTRA IS FOR EVERYONE, and NO STUDENT will be turned away due to financial issues. Notifying the director in writing (email preferred) early in the year is essential!

The student and the family are responsible for keeping the uniform in a clean, presentable condition. Hanging up the uniform properly and brushing it off after each performance will keep it cleaner for a longer time.

When paying money to the orchestra, please write the student's name and payment description on all checks. Checks should be made payable to "Winter Park High School Orchestra" or "WPHS Orchestra."

Parents: You can now pay for fees with a credit card or a direct bank draft through the OCPS website. Go to www.schoolpay.ocps.net, register, and start paying! We prefer online payment. The SchoolPay service is audited by a third party to assure adherence to the strict, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DCI).
